In the fall of 2013, after experiencing a near catastrophic high rise system failure, original co-founder Nicholas Blodans, a seasoned high rise window cleaning technician, decided it was time to disrupt the GTA's dogged high rise window cleaning community.

He was unsatisfied with the antiquated, inefficient and unsafe approach seemingly every high rise window washer operated. At this point in his career, he'd worked for half a dozen different outfits - from big and established GTA institutions to young, hungry "man and a van" upstarts. One thing was clear... there had to be a better way.

Nicholas joined forces with his father Uldis Blodans - a Latvian immigrant and Toronto entrepreneurial success story (retail clothing/restauranteur/builder) to re-invent a stuck-in-the-mud wheel - introducing "Rope Access" high rise window washing to the GTA.

The rest is history.

Sky High Window Services was founded in 2011 by Toronto entrepreneur Uldis Blodans to bring higher standards of safety, planning, and professionalism to high-rise exterior maintenance across the Greater Toronto Area.

The company was built alongside his son Nicholas, an experienced high-rise technician whose firsthand exposure to a serious equipment failure early in his career reinforced the need for safer, more disciplined approaches to high-rise work. That experience helped shape the principles the company was founded on — careful planning, modern access methods, and uncompromising safety standards.
